Unemployment in today's world
We live in the 21st century, a technological era , where innovation, renovation, automation and perfection is the only thing that runs in the minds of companies and organization. Where are moving as a world, do even do anything keeping in mind the stress and strain a people undergo. We might say money is everything, without money we cannot do anything, the person who has money is all Supreme. If that is the case then how is it that people who don't have that level of income manage their lives so well? How is that a poor man who earns his living on a day to day basis is much more contented with life?
We as working professionals, business owners, CEO's, CFO's and name whatever designation you want, expect the maximum possible, most optimized solutions for business and work related problems, to earn and get maximum return on investment in the shortest period of time. We all know that most of us are trying to fake our happiness by substituting it by materialistic happiness. We have been told time and again by knowledge is power, but are we able to use this knowledge in the right direction.
Every year students graduate from Colleges and Universities with the hope of getting jobs based on their qualifications, but are there enough jobs for Entry level ?? Students and graduates from varied disciplines with good degrees and grades, but with lesser or no years of work experience, which makes it difficult for them to get jobs. There are jobs present in job boards and job portals for "Entry Level" but their requirements and job descriptions say minimum 3 to 4 years of work experience required, there are Junior level positions but with 5 years of work experience. If an Entry Level Candidate must possess at least 3 years of Work Experience and a Junior level experienced candidate must have at least 5 years of work experience, then what is the point in coining the terms "Entry Level" and "Junior". What is point of having positions when organizations don't want to give a chance to these young graduates, as the fact is 90% of them won't have the so called "Experience".
If it is all about experience, then there is no point in putting up such positions on the job boards and job portals. What is the purpose of investing in Knowledge with hope of getting a good job and then just getting rejected for the fact that an individual has no work experience? Is the Business Community being reasonable enough to give these Students, Graduates and so called Entry Level folks the right opportunity. So according to Business Community those just graduating out of colleges need to come out with experience..?? Being realistic is a trait of a person which cannot be paralleled under any circumstance, so how can the business community not be realistic and try understanding that only if we are given a proper opportunity can we gain the appropriate experience.
As I see things moving forward, in the years to come we will have more and more graduates out of colleges without much experience and lesser number of jobs which suit their profiles, which is eventually going to lead to a whole generation being without jobs...!!!!
